In 1929, Mr. F.-X. LAMBERT, grandfather of the present owners, Daniel and Gabriel,
purchased the bog in Rivière-Ouelle, Québec. Very early, his son Richard,
who was a knowledgeable and dynamic agronomist, realized the value of this land
and devoted his life as a pioneer of the peat moss industry in North America.
While the original bog is still in production, Lambert Peat Moss Inc., currently
operates 6 more bogs located South and North of the St. Lawrence river, with
a total area of 16,000 acres of Sphagnum peat moss.
